John Pool has been associated with the Moscow Public Library since April, 1986. That’s when he was named to the Moscow Public Library’s Board of Trustees by the Mayor. When the District and City libraries were consolidated in 1994, John was picked as one of the city’s representatives on the new five-member board. In early 1999 John lost his job at the UI and was hired into a full-time Technology Coordinator job with the district, guiding the district into its first district-wide computer network. John retired from the library in 2006. In 2008 he became an active library volunteer, driving twice-a-week to all the district’s branches, interchanging books and other materials. He joined the foundation board in 2010, serving terms as president and stepping in as treasurer when needed.
